Abdul Qadir
Leg spin magician who kept wrist spin alive in the 1980s
Overview
Qadir bowled with an extravagant, bounding action and a full range of leg breaks, googlies and flippers at a time when fast bowling ruled. He took 9 for 56 against England at Lahore in 1987, one of the finest spells of leg spin in Test history. Shane Warne cited him as an inspiration, and he died in 2019.
