Pollock made 274 at Trent Bridge in 1965, still among the highest by a visiting batter in England, and averaged 60.97 in Tests. Don Bradman rated his 254 at Adelaide in 1964 among the finest innings ever played. The apartheid boycott ended his Test career after 23 matches at 26 years old.
