Steve Smith
Unorthodox batting genius who scored 774 runs in the 2019 Ashes
Overview
Smith began as a leg spinner and reinvented himself as one of the leading Test batsmen of his generation, with an idiosyncratic shuffle across the stumps. He was banned for a year after the 2018 ball tampering scandal at Cape Town and lost the captaincy. He returned to score 774 runs in the 2019 Ashes in England, one of the great comeback series.
