Kapil Dev captained India to the 1983 World Cup, his 175 not out against Zimbabwe at Tunbridge Wells rescuing the campaign from 17 for 5. He became the first to complete 4,000 runs and 400 wickets in Tests, finishing with 434 wickets, the world record at his 1994 retirement. India first true great fast bowler.
