Kingsmead
Durban ground of the 1939 Timeless Test
Overview
Kingsmead in Durban has hosted Test cricket since the 1920s and is known for humid conditions that help seam and swing bowling. In 1939 it staged the Timeless Test between South Africa and England, which was abandoned as a draw after more than a week of play so the English team could catch their ship home. It remains a regular international venue.
