Len Hutton
364 against Australia at The Oval in 1938
Overview
Hutton made 364 in 1938, then the highest Test score, at 22 years of age. A war injury left his left arm shorter, yet he remade his game and became the first professional captain of England in the modern era, regaining the Ashes in 1953. He was knighted in 1956.
