Kohli passed the 49 ODI hundreds of Tendulkar in the 2023 World Cup semi-final at his home Wankhede, the 50th a national festival. He made 765 runs in that tournament, the most in any single World Cup. As Test captain he rebuilt India into the number one side with relentless intensity and fitness.
